A few months ago, I wrote about cash. This post is about credit. Along with my bank transactions, I also maintain my credit card transactions in the same excel sheet. This allows me to plot charts such as below (daily expense via credit card) -
I have one Silver, one Gold, two Platinum and one Corporate credit card. However I only use two out of these five credit cards.
Compare this to daily cash expenditure -
Sometime around October 2008, my daily credit card expenditure went past the daily cash expenses. It also has a distinctive increasing trend compared to relatively flat cash spending.
These excludes online bank transactions, cheques and debit card. Also these are average trend graphs which show that I currently spend ~Rs. 150 cash per day and ~Rs. 200 per day via credit card.
Above is the breakup of the Credit Card expenses.
